NEW STATE SENATE DISTRICT MAPS!
DID YOU KNOW?
Some districts have changed! Depending where you live, your State Senate District may have changed as part of the redistricting process.
CHECK MY DISTRICT
Click the button to check (and confirm) your State Senate District:
After you click, enter your current address in the search bar (top right corner) and you will see your 2024 State Senate District Number (second box). This is the district you will be voting for. The first box you see will be your 2020 District (which may be the same or may be different).
Note: you may see your current State Senator’s name; this person may or may not be running for re-election, may or may not have a Primary election and not necessarily the only candidate running.
WHY NEW MAPS
Redistricting is the process of redrawing the lines of districts from which public officials are elected to represent you. Each state is constitutionally required to rebalance districts (redistrict) every 10 years based on new US Census data. The goal of new & updated maps are to address population growth & rebalance district sizes so a vote in one district has the same weight as a vote in all others.
Although the Census data is from 2020, this process takes time and also coincides with the first election following the completion of redistricting. This is the first election (2024) where the new State Senate maps drawn (due to redistricting) will be used (State Senate is a 4 year term, this is the first election for State Senate since 2020).
