WHAT’S ON THE BALLOT?

900+ LOCAL AND STATE RACES ON THE BALLOT:

Voting can feel energizing - and, sometimes, completely overwhelming. If you’ve ever looked at the ballot and realized you have no idea the purpose some stat and local elected positions serve - you’re not alone.

It’s our local and state elected officials whose job is to make decisions about how we live our lives, our freedoms, and determine the health of our communities. No matter what you care about - YOUR issues are on the ballot this year.

This November, we have the opportunity to send a message to our elected officials showing them what we value and the freedoms we want prioritized. Our participation moves us closer to strengthening and making our democracy work - for all of us.

NONPARTISAN VOTER GUIDES

We’ve created three nonpartisan voter guides to help you be a more informed and confident voter. These guides do not cover everything, or every position on the ballot, and we encourage you to use these alongside other trusted resources (some listed below). These guides are specific to voting in the state of South Carolina.

2024 LOCAL VOTERS GUIDE: outlines five local positions on the ballot in South Carolina - that you really should know about before heading to the polls. Learn their job responsibilities, how their decisions impact your freedoms, and role they play in sharing power with other state & local positions.

2024 SC FIRST TIME VOTERS GUIDE: designed to help South Carolina voters (especially young, college & first timers) navigate the steps from registration to becoming a confident voter. Includes information like checking your voter ID, making a plan to vote, generating a sample ballot, and what to expect on and after election day.

2024 SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOL BOARD VOTER GUIDE: 234 school board races are on the ballot. These elected officials have an outsized impact on day to day life - regardless if you have school aged children. This nonpartisan voter guide covers 101 for South Carolina and goes deeper for Charleston County voters - breaking down the CCSD Board of Trustees & Constituent Board elections. Dig in to information on the power of school boards, how to qualify candidates & more resources for any South Carolina voter.
